MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota tennis team defeated Indiana 4-1 at Baseline Tennis Center, improving to 10-13 on the season.
Quote From Coach Arterberry
Today I was really proud of the way the team started off, especially winning the doubles point," head coach Lois Arterberry said. "I definitely felt like we carried some momentum into this match from how we competed in doubles against UCLA and USC. Even though we didn't win those matches, we took some positives and applied them todayāand it paid off. That energy carried over into singles. We knew it was going to be a battle, and we were locked in from the warm-up. That focus played a huge role in how we approached each match. We had a strong showing from Sofiaāshe stepped up and put the first singles point on the board. A good from Mia as well, and then Jeselle came through in a big way at the end to close it out. What stood out to me most was that the team showed up as one unit. That's something we've struggled with, but today everyone was on the same page. Our goal was to get the job done together, and we did. Now we're looking ahead to Sunday's match against Purdue. We know that'll be another tough test, but we're hoping to carry this momentum forward and get a positive result."
