Minnesota Falls to No. 2 Virginia on Day Two of Karbach Round Rock Classic

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS- The Minnesota Gophers (1-4, 0-0 Big Ten) fall 4-2 to No. 2 Virginia (3-2, 0-0 ACC) on day two of the Karbach Round Rock Classic. 
 
Jake Elbeery led the Gopher offense with two hits. Jack Spanier added two RBIs. 
 
Kyle Remington got the start for the Gophers and threw 6.1 innings with five strikeouts taking the loss. Eli Sundquist entered in relief and threw 1.2 innings with two strikeouts. 
 
How it Happened
- The Gophers struck first in the top of the fourth, scoring two off an RBI single from Jack Spanier. Jake Elbeery and Easton Richter come around to score after getting on via singles. 
- Virginia then answered, scoring one in the bottom of the fourth off an RBI single.
- The Cavaliers then got two more off a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. 
- Virginia added another off a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 4-2 Cavaliers. 

Game Notes
- Spanier recorded a season high two RBIs. 
- Jake Elbeery picked up two hits for the Gophers.
- Knoll, Richter, Spanier, and Neels all recorded one hit.
- Landen Lozier picked up two walks.
