Minnesota Concludes Season with 2-0 Loss to Purdue

The Golden Gophers have finished out the 2025 season
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The University of Minnesota women's soccer team concluded its season Sunday with a 2-0 loss to Purdue. The Golden Gophers and Boilermakers played in front of 821 fans at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.
Minnesota finished its season with a 6-8-3 record, including a 2-6-3 mark in Big Ten play. Purdue improved to 6-10-3 overall and 3-7-1 in the conference.
Goalkeeper Sarah Martin collected 10 saves, while Minnesota's offense totaled 14 shots, including seven on goal. Caroline Birdsell led the way with five total shots, two of which were on goal.
The Gophers led the Boilermakers in corner kicks, 9-4, the second most Minnesota has recorded at home this season.
Purdue opened the scoring in the 11th minute off a corner kick. Emilia Deppe crossed the ball to Megan Santa Cruz, who finished for a 1-0 lead.
In the 66th minute, Santa Cruz assisted Irene Campo to double Purdue's advantage.
