MINNEAPOLIS - After allowing just two goals over the weekend as Minnesota picked up three Western Collegiate Hockey Association points against Alaska Anchorage, Minnesota freshman goaltender Adam Wilcox has been tabbed as this week's Red Baron® WCHA Rookie of the Week.

The South St. Paul, Minn., native picked up the second shutout of his career in Friday's 4-0 win over the Seawolves after making all 14 saves in the contest. Wilcox followed up the performance by making 21 saves the next night as Minnesota rallied for a 2-2 overtime tie with UAA.

The rookie netminder's 1.58 goals against average leads the WCHA and ranks fifth overall in the nation. The rookie's .786 winning percentage (5-1-1) also is the best in the WCHA and the eighth highest percentage in the NCAA this season.

UNO's John Faulkner earned this week's WCHA Defensive Player of the Week award while Colorado College's Rylan Schwartz was honored as the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week.

Minnesota returns to action next weekend at Mariucci Arena when Wisconsin visits Minneapolis for a pair of WCHA games.
