Head Coach Don Lucia:
On the first power-play goal:
“We really moved the puck around well. We spread out and let the puck do the work and that is what guys with good hockey sense will do.”
On Jordan Schroeder, Mike Hoeffel, and Cade Fairchild leaving for World Juniors:
“We are going to miss those three but at least it is only for two games. We are just looking toward tomorrow because Colorado College is a very good team. They are a very good transition team and had some very good looks tonight. You have to give credit to Alex Kangas because he made some really good saves tonight.”
On Colorado College’s goal:
“It went off of Bill Sweatt’s skate. If we could only give up one goal a night, we would be fine with that. We did a good job defensively, especially after the Michigan and Michigan State experience. Tomorrow is going to be a good test to beat a good team again. We were sluggish in the first five minutes of the game but we expected that. I thought that the guys did a good job finishing the rest of the game.”
