Laura Feinson joined the coaching staff with the Minnesota rowing team in August 2023 as its graduate assistant coach following a decorated career at Indiana from 2018-23. She enters her second year with the program, working primarily with the Golden Gophers' novice squad.

Feinson has helped revamp the novice team, highlighted by the Maroon and Gold's First Novice Eight crew claiming a bronze medal at the 2024 Big Ten Championship. It was the team's first medal at the regatta since 2018 when it won a pair of silver medals and helped the Gophers to their highest team finish since 2015, placing fifth overall.

Feinson was named the 2022 Big Ten Rowing Athlete of the Year, becoming just the second Indiana rower to earn the award and the first outright Hoosier winner. She earned distinction on the 2022 Pocock Racing Shells Honorable Mention All-America Team and was a first team All-Big Ten selection after helping her First Varsity Eight boat to a bronze medal at the 2022 Big Ten Championships. She followed that performance by placing second on the 1V8 boat at the 2023 Big Ten Championships guiding the Hoosiers to their best-ever finish at the regatta, a third-place result, and went on to place 17th at the NCAA Championships.

A native of Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand, Feinson also received the Most Valuable Rower Award within the IU program as a senior in 2022, as well as being named the recipient of the Indiana University athletic department's Hoosier Award. The Hoosier Award recognizes a student-athlete for bringing honor and distinction in their representative sport during the academic year.

She was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree during her tenure at Indiana and earned the honor of being on the Big Ten Boat of the Week in April of 2022 following a course-record winning time at the OSU Invitational.

Feinson received a Bachelor of Science degree in sport marketing and management from Indiana in 2022, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management in 2023, and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in sport management at Minnesota.
