May also spent eight years as a health and physical education teacher in ISD 191 before joining the Blake School.
A 2003 graduate of Burnsville High School and a three-time all-conference honoree in hockey, May played collegiately at Augsburg and was a MIAC all-conference honoree. He graduated from Augsburg with a bachelor’s degree in health education and physical education and went on to earn a master’s degree in education leadership from Concordia-St. Paul.
