Steve Felde joined the Athletic Performance staff at the University of Minnesota as an Associate Director of Athletic Performance in June 2018 and works with the Women's Basketball program. This is Steve’s third stint with Gopher Athletics.
Steve attended Concordia University of Wisconsin and completed his undergraduate education in 2003 graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Leadership. As an undergrad, he worked as both a student athletic trainer (Football and Wrestling) and as a student strength and conditioning coach (Men’s Basketball and Men’s Soccer). He spent 2005 at the University of Minnesota as a professional intern with Strength & Conditioning and assisted with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 25 sports. Felde obtained his Master’s degree is Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy in 2010.
Felde was the Director of Strength & Conditioning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2007 – 2012. He oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for 13 sports including Baseball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Men’s & Women’s Soccer, Track & Field, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Cross Country and Volleyball. He was a part of 34 teams that won Horizon League Championships and assisted the Women’s Soccer team during 2 consecutive years as a nationally ranked team.
In 2013, Felde joined the staff at the University of Miami as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach working with Men’s Basketball and Women’s Soccer. He was promoted to Director of Olympic Sports Performance in 2016.
Steve is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is also a Certified Club Coach through USA Weightlifting.
A native of Milwaukee, WI, Steve is married to the former Wendie Parchim.
