2012 ? JUNIOR SEASON:
Academic All-Big Ten ? one of the most versatile players on the team as he played five different positions due to team injuries ? saw action in 50 of 56 games and started in 39? batted .235 in 162 at bats? tied for second on the team in RBI production at 27? also had 20 runs scored and 10 walks? held a .982 fielding percentage and 185 putouts? produced nine multiple-hit games and five multiple RBI games? held a six-game hitting streak? in first six games of the season, had nine hits in 16 at bats? opened the junior campaign against Louisville (2/17) and went 2-3 with a double, RBI, run scored and a walk ? scored two runs and knocked in one in the win over UW-Milwaukee (2/24)? was 1-3 with a RBI and run scored in the 8-1 win over New Mexico State (3/1)? had two RBI and went 2-3 also with a run scored in The Citadel win (3/25)? went 2-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and had a RBI in the 9-4 Michigan win (3/31)? had a season-best three RBI game against Augsburg (4/3)? produced a RBI single to give the Gophers a 2-1 walkoff win against Northwestern (4/14)? went 2-4 with two runs scored and a RBI in the 5-4 win over Iowa (4/27)? had two RBI and went 2-4 with a run scored in the season finale win over Illinois (5/19).

Academic All-Big Ten ? batted .213 with seven runs, four doubles, one home run and seven RBI ? in Big Ten Conference action had a batting average of .279 ? Gopher starting catcher in 33 games ? had 206 putouts, ranking second on the team ? held a team-high eight sacrifice bunts ? earned his first hit of the year in the 2-0 shutout win over Washington State (3/5) ? went 2-for-2 against Michigan State (4/9) for his first multiple-hit game of the season ? was 2-for-3 against St. Thomas and added a double ? helped the Gophers to a 5-2 win over Indiana on April 24 with a hit, a walk and two runs ? had two RBI against South Dakota State on April 27 ? hit his third double of the season and went 2-for-4 in the 4-1 May 6 win over Michigan ? set a career-high three RBI and hit his first-career home run in the May 7 win over the Wolverines ? went 2-for-4 in the 3-2 win against Penn State (5/14) ? had a hit in four chances against PSU during the Big Ten Tournament (5/26) ? had a walk and a sacrifice fly in the May 27 Purdue win in the Big Ten Tournament.

2010 ? FRESHMAN SEASON:
Batted .258 with 12 runs, 15 RBI and four stolen bases ? made his collegiate debut on Feb. 19 against Akron, going 0-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base, and a run scored ? collected his first career hit against Oklahoma State on March 6, going 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI ? went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored against Purdue on April 3 ? was 2-for-4 with two RBI, a double and a run scored against Indiana on April 25 ? had a career-high three hits on April 28 against North Dakota State, going 3-for-5 with one RBI, a run scored and a stolen base ? went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run against Penn State on May 16 ? was 1-for-1 with a double and three RBI against Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament Championship on May 29.

Redshirted the 2009 season.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduated from Albany Senior High School ? was coached by Al Amdahl ? named Class AA Player of the Year as a senior ? named All- Area in junior and senior seasons, was a three-time All-Conference honoree ? led his team to a 22-7 record, a conference championship and state consolation championship title as a senior ? batted .455 his senior year, and also had an ERA of 0.44 on the mound during his senior campaign ? finished his career 21-2 as a pitcher with a 0.77 ERA ? letted in wrestling for six years annd football for three seasons ? was an Academic All-State honoree in football and baseball.

PERSONAL:
Majoring in finance ? son of Fred and Phyllis Schlangen ? lists throwing a no-hitter in the section finals to advance to the State Tournament, and intercepting and running back a touch down on the second play of the game on his way to a four-touchdown performance in the Sectional Finals as his biggest sports thrills ? born on Sept. 10, 1989.
