2024 | REDSHIRT JUNIOR Started 46 of the 47 games he played, slashing .284/.376/.519 · slugged a team-high 12 home runs and added seven doubles · tallied 33 RBI and 37 runs scoredwith 26 walks · recorded a 25-game on-base streak to start the season, the longest of any Gopher in 2024. Game Highlights: Went 1-2 with a double and a walk against No. 7 Oregon State (Feb. 17) · had two hits in three at bats with a walk, home run, two RBIs and two runs against Pacific (Mar. 3) · hit two home runs in one inning, including a grand slam and had six RBIs against Pacific on Mar. 4 · collected three RBI with a home run against Gonzaga (Mar. 8) · went 1-4 with a home run and two RBI against Elon (Mar. 17) · totaled three hits in four at-bats with three runs scored against San Francisco (Mar. 24) · had a two-RBI double and scored two runs against Iowa (Mar. 29) · went 3-4 with a home run, RBI and a run scored against Michigan (Apr. 14) · reached base four times against Indiana and scored one run (Apr. 21) · had a monster series against Michigan State, collecting six hits, three home runs and six RBI in the series to be named Big Ten Player of the Week · went 2-5 with a home run and two RBI (May 11) · went 3-5 with two home runs, four RBI and four runs scored (May 12) · had one hit and one RBI in three trips to the plate in the final game against Northwestern (May 18)

2023 | SUMMER Mezzenga played for the St. Cloud Rox of the Northwoods League · played 25 games, batting .241 with 21 hits, 14 RBI and 14 runs. Game Highlights: went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a home run, scored a run and had two RBI in a loss to La Crosse (June 16).

2023 | REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE Started in 50 of the 52 games he played in, slashing .254/.383/.329 with four home runs and 30 RBI in his first season in the Maroon and Gold · totaled 49 hits, including 13 doubles, with 31 runs scored and 23 walks · tallied a .916 fielding percentage with 119 assists while appearing at multiple positions, including shortstop, left field, right field and first base. Game Highlights: Had two hits in three at-bats with one RBI and one run vs. Oregon State (Feb. 18) · totaled three hits, including two doubles, while also having an RBI and a run vs. Saint Louis (Feb. 24) · hit two doubles vs. Saint Louis with an RBI (Feb. 26) · went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs vs. No. 4 Ole Miss (March 4) · tallied two hits with two RBI in a win over NIU (March 7) · hit his first career Gopher home run in a two-hit performance against Houston (March 17) · had an RBI and a double in a win at Illinois State (March 21) · went 1-for-3 with a three-run double in a win over Purdue (April 9) · hit a home run in a three-hit performance and victory vs. NDSU (April 14) · totaled two hits and had two RBI in a win over Iowa (April 14) · had an RBI double in a win at Nebraska (April 28) · hit the game-clinching sacrifice fly in a win over Michigan (May 6) · blasted his third home run of the year as one of two hits at No. 19 Maryland (May 13) · drilled a home run and had three RBI at Maryland (May 14) · had three hits, including two doubles, with two RBI vs. SDSU (May 16) · singled and scored the game-winning run in an 8-7 comeback versus Rutgers (May 19).

2022 | SUMMER Played in 13 games for the St. Cloud Rox, hitting .361 with two home runs, 19 RBI and 14 runs scored · had 22 hits in 61 at-bats, hitting six doubles and walking eight times · posted a .557 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage.

2022 | SOPHOMORE (NIACC) Had a huge sophomore season, hitting .345 with 15 home runs and 51 RBI while slugging .635 for the year in 53 games · had 68 hits in 197 at-bats, knocking 12 doubles and tallying 34 walks.

2021 | FRESHMAN (NIACC) Played in 19 games in his freshman year, tallying a .150 batting average · hit one home run with five RBI, six hits and five runs scored · walked 10 times and stole a base · slugged .225 with a .314 on-base percentage.

BEFORE MINNESOTA Attended Mounds View High School · as a senior he hit three home runs with 15 RBI · he was a 2020 team captain and an academic honor roll selection · also played football and hockey his freshmen and sophomore years of high school · went to state for ping pong as a junior.

PERSONAL Born Jan. 18, 2002 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Rainie Mezzenga-McSherry and Tony Mezzenga · has three brothers, Ben, Gabe and Luke · Ben played for the Gophers from 2016-19, earning All-Big Ten Second Team honors as a junior · majoring in business marketing education.
