2012? SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Held a 3.24 earned run average in 86 innings pitched ? appeared in 16 games, making 13 starts ? was 4-4 on the season ? moved into the starting weekend rotation on March 18 after an injury to Tom Windle and was the Saturday starter for the Big Ten season ? allowed 31 earned runs, one home run and 13 doubles ? held an opponent batting average of .229 ? held the Big Ten Conference's 12th-lowest ERA, fourth-lowest opponent batting average and eighth fewest runs allowed ? ranked second on the team in strikeouts with 55 ? started the season with three innings pitched against Louisville (2/17) ? pitched three innings against Nebraska (3/4) and allowed just two hits ? started and collected the win against Cal Poly (3/18) ? went 7.2 innings en route to a shutout over The Citadel (3/24) ? collected the win over Michigan when he went 7.0 innings (3/31) ? allowed just one run on five hits in the win over Northwestern (4/14) ? pitched a complete game against Michigan State when he allowed just two earned runs ? allowed two earned runs against Iowa and struck out six in a no decision.
2011? FRESHMAN SEASON :
Appeared in 13 games and had a 5.22 ERA and four starts as a true freshman ? pitched 29.1 innings and had 18 strikeouts ? started his Gopher career on Feb. 20 against Louisville ? held Delaware State scoreless in 2.1 innings pitched on Feb. 27 ? pitched 2.1 innings against Oklahoma State and an inning against Gonzaga ? pitched a then-career-high four innings pitched and allowed one hit and had four strikeouts in the 7-5 win over Sacramento State (3/17) ? made his Big Ten Conference debut against Purdue and pitched 2.1 innings ? earned his first career start against St. Thomas (4/13) ? also started against South Dakota State (4/27) and North Dakota State (5/3) ? pitched 2.1 innings against Penn State (5/13) and had a strikeout, a walk and allowed one hit ? earned his first career win in the 8-5 win over North Dakota State on May 17 ? pitched a career-high five innings and 75 pitches against Michigan State during the Big Ten Championships (5/28).
HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduated from Lakes Community High School ? coached by William Rosecrans ? drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 30th round of the Major League Baseball Draft ? named Honorable-Mention All-State in his senior season and was All-Conference in 2009 and 2010 ? also lettered in golf ? played club ball with the Kenosha Indians from 2007-10.
