2012 SEASON:
Pitched in 16 appearances, started one game against St. Thomas for the last game at Siebert Field (5/1) ? went from pitching just five games as a junior to 16 as a senior, a career high in a season ? also pitched the most innings of his Gopher career at 32.0 and least amount of earned runs (11) ? earned George Thomas Most Improved Player Award ? only allowed six walks and struck out 22, which ranked third among Gopher relievers ? his 22 strikeouts was the most in his career ? had a career-high five strikeouts in three innings pitched against UW-Milwaukee (2/25) ? also collected his first save of his career in the Milwaukee win ? in 3.0 IP against Kansas University, had three strikeouts and one earned run ? In 2.0 IP against Nebraska Omaha, had three strikeouts and no runs (4/18) ? saw action against four Big Ten Conference opponents: Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, and Illinois ? his conference action was the first since his freshman year.
2011 SEASON:
Played in five games and pitched six innings ? saw his first action since 2009 against St. John's (2/18) and pitched 2.2 innings ? in 1.1 innings pitched against Oklahoma State, had two strikeouts ? pitched an inning against Gonzaga (3/12) ? saw action in the Sacramento State game (3/17) and St. Thomas (4/13).
2010 SEASON:
Missed season after having shoulder surgery.
2009 ? SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Pitched in nine games and made four starts as a sophomore ? went 1.2 shutout innings against Northern Iowa on Mar. 4 ? pitched a career-high 4.2 innings, gave up four hits, four runs, walked two and struck out three at Texas-Arlington on Mar. 17 ? pitched two shutout innings against North Dakota State in relief on Apr. 22 to pick up his first career win ? gave up only five hits and two runs in six innings in his final three starts of the season.
2008 ? FRESHMAN SEASON:
Pitched in 10 games and made five starts as a true freshman ? went 19.1 innings, walked nine and struck out 13 batters ? made two starts and four appearances in Big Ten play ? ended up logging 8.1 innings in conference play ? pitched 4.1 IP, gave up two hits, two runs and struck out a battter in his first career appearance, a start against North Dakota State on Mar. 18 ? struck out three batters and surrendered a hit and a run in 1.1 innings against Northern Iowa on Apr. 9 ? pitched two thirds scoreless innings against Purdue on Apr. 26 ? pitched one shutout inning against No. 19 Michigan on May 11.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Graduated from McLeod West High School and played under coach Dave Wendlandt ? named a two-time all- state, All-Area and was a three-time all-conference honoree at McLeod West ? named the team's most valuable player twice ? in his junior season he was 10- 1 with a 1.56 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 80.2 innings of work ? a multiple-sport athlete in high school ? named a two-time conference player of the year, a three-time all-conference selection and the team's three-time MVP in basketball ? also an all-conference selection in football his senior season.
