'U' Announces Finalized 2026-27 B1G Schedule, Nonconference Start Times

Dates set for all 2026-27 men's hockey games along with promotional details
MINNEAPOLIS - The Big Ten Conference announced official dates for all men's hockey league games Friday as the 2026-27 season is just two weeks away from the opening puck drop. Game times and broadcast information for B1G matchups will be announced at a later date, while nonconference home game times are now confirmed along with promotional details for the year.
Big Ten Conference Games
B1G play once again features a double-round-robin format where each team plays both a home and an away series with the other six conference members for 12 home and 12 away matchups.
The Golden Gophers start conference play at the end of October when they host Penn State (Oct. 30-31) before welcoming Wisconsin to 3M Arena at Mariucci for a rivalry series set for Nov. 5 and 7. Following nonconference action, the Maroon and Gold close the calendar year with trips to Notre Dame (Dec. 4-5) and Michigan State (Dec. 11-12).
The 2027 portion of the schedule features conference battles for the remainder of the campaign, beginning with a home series versus Michigan (Jan. 8-9) and a road trip to Ohio State (Jan. 15-16). The Gophers return to campus for two-straight weekends on home ice as they will face Notre Dame (Jan. 22-23) and Michigan State (Jan. 29-30) to cap January.
A road-heavy slate finishes the regular season as the Maroon and Gold visit Wisconsin (Feb. 5 and 7) and Penn State (Feb. 12-13) on consecutive weekends. Minnesota's final home series takes place Feb. 19-20 when it hosts Ohio State. The last regular-season tilts are set for Feb. 26-27 at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich., before the Gophers await their postseason seeding during a bye week to close the year.
The 2027 postseason follows the same format as last year with a single-elimination tournament with all games at campus sites. The B1G Tournament quarterfinals will be held Wednesday, Mar. 10, and the semifinals are scheduled for Mar. 13. The championship game will be played on Mar. 19, hosted by the highest remaining seed.
