Minnesota to Host Roy Griak Invite, Reveals Full 2026 Schedule

The Roy Griak Invitational will return for its 40th running on September 18.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota men's and women's cross country programs announced its 2026 fall competition schedule. The season, which runs from September 4 to November 21, includes one home event, the 40th Annual Roy Griak Invitational on September 18.
The 2026 Roy Griak Invitational will make the move to the Fort Snelling Golf Course on September 18. More ticket and spectator information will be released at a later date.
Both programs begin the season on Friday, September 4, when Minnesota heads to Ames, Iowa, for the Cyclone Preview. The Roy Griak Invitational is the second of three races in September for the Maroon and Gold with the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational ending the month of Friday, September 25.
October's schedule includes two competition dates, the first being on October 9, in Madison, Wis., at the Nuttycombe Invitational. Three weeks later on October 30, the 'U' returns to Madison for the Big Ten Championships at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
Minnesota begins NCAA competition on November 13, at the NCAA Midwest Regional and follows that up with the NCAA Championships on November 21. The regional will be held on the campus of Iowa State while the championship is hosted in Terre Haute, Ind.
