HOW IT HAPPENED

Minnesota answered in the third inning. Lucy Hooper reached on an error and came around to score on an RBI double from Cassie Johnson, tying the game at 1-1.

The Tommies responded in the bottom half of the inning, regaining the lead on an RBI single from Laken Lienhard before Cook helped her own cause with a solo home run to make it 3-1.

St. Thomas extended its lead in the fifth inning, capitalizing on a Minnesota error and adding a sacrifice fly to push the advantage to 5-1.

The Tommies added two more runs in the sixth behind extra-base hits from Lienhard and Cook, stretching the lead to 7-1.

Minnesota plated its final run in the seventh when Lucy Hooper reached and later scored on an RBI single from Maggie Werner, but the rally fell short as St. Thomas secured the 7-2 win.
