Lil G to make appearances at games, community events and on social media
Gopher Athletics announced today that it will introduce a live mascot – affectionately known as Lil G – at the start of the 2026 competition season.
Fans can expect Lil G to make appearances at games, community events and on social media, where the mascot has already been described as "mysteriously charismatic."
Ahh, who are we kidding? It's April Fools' Day.

Can't make it to a game, but you still want to support the Gophers? Then go ahead and visit the Golden Gopher Fund.
