STARTING FIVE
• The Golden Gopher men's basketball team will hold the No. 11 seed in the 2026 TIAA Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament. Minnesota (15-16 overall, 8-12 Big Ten) will face the No. 14 seed Rutgers on Wednesday night at approximately 8 p.m. The contest will be the second time the Gophers and Scarlet Knights have faced each other in 18 days, as Minnesota won the only meeting between the two on Feb. 21 in an 80-61 win at Williams Arena.
• The Golden Gophers have faced Rutgers twice in Big Ten Tournament play, and the first time since 2018. Minnesota is 1-1 in those matchups, defeating the Scarlet Knights 80-68 in 2015, but falling 65-54 in 2018. It also marks the third time the two teams have met in the 11/14 seeding matchup, with Minnesota as the 11 seed and Rutgers as the 14 seed.
• Minnesota closed out the regular season with a 67-66 win over Northwestern on Saturday. Langston Reynolds scored 17 of his team-high 21 points in the second half. Cade Tyson had 15 points, Isaac Asuma finished with 14 points and eight rebounds and Bobby Durkin had 12 points, as Minnesota fought off a second-half rally by Northwestern to close the regular season and a 13-4 record at Williams Arena.
• Langston Reynolds established his third 20-point game of the season Saturday and his second time in three games. In Big Ten play, the senior guard averaged 13.4 points and had 103 of his 138 assists in league action. Reynolds also shot 53.5 percent from the field, setting a team-best 100 field goals in 187 attempts.
• Cade Tyson averages 19.5 points, which ranks sixth in the league, as does his 585 points this season. He has also produced two 30-point games in his senior year and has scored double-figure points in each of his 30 games. His 19.5 ppg currently ranks in the top five in school history since 1978-79. Others in the group: Quincy Lewis (23.1 in 1998-99), Kris Humphries (21.7 in 2003-24), Randy Breuer (20.4 in 1982-83) and Daniel Oturu (20.1 in 2019-20).

Cade Tyson made 7-of-9 three-pointers to finish with 27 points and 10 rebounds, Langston Reynolds had 19 points and nine assists as Minnesota shot a season-best 60 percent from the field and made 15-of-26 (.577) three-pointers.
