Pair of Gophers Prepare to Compete at 2026 Men’s NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN – University of Minnesota swimmer Jacob Johnson and diver Drew Bennett are set to represent the maroon and gold at the 2026 DI Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, Georgia from Mar. 25-28.

Championships At A Glance
Georgia Tech serves as the host school of this year's NCAA Championships, holding the meet at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The Gophers will have members competing on the final three days of the meet, with prelims starting at 9:00 AM (CT) and finals beginning at 5:00 PM (CT) each day.
Jacob Johnson is set to make his second straight appearance at the NCAA Championships, qualifying for the 100 and 200 fly events. Johnson is the current school record holder in both events, setting the 100 fly record at the most recent Big Ten Championships with a 44.86 and setting the 200 fly record at the 2025 NCAA Championships with a 1:39.96.
Drew Bennett is set to make his fourth NCAA championship appearance, qualifying in all three of the diving events. The 2026 Big Ten platform champion won the men's platform event at the most recent Zone D Diving Championships, and qualified for the 1-meter and 3-meter events with a fourth and sixth place finish respectively.
