STARTING FIVE
• The Golden Gopher men's basketball team is back at Williams Arena for its second-straight game when it hosts the Maryland Terrapins on Sunday. The game also marks the inaugural Ski-U-Mah Strong game, connecting the Gophers with warriors through M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital.
• Minnesota is 3-17 all-time against Maryland since 1960. Since Maryland joined the Big Ten in 2014, the Gophers are 3-13, with their last win in 2024.
• Minnesota is coming off a 76-73 upset win over No. 10 Michigan State on Wednesday night. The Gophers led from start to finish and fought off a Spartan rally with a pair of free throws by Isaac Asuma and one by Langston Reynolds to seal the win. The victory marked Minnesota's third win over a ranked opponent this year and first against a top-10 opponent since then-No. 7 Michigan in 2021. Prior to the MSU win, the Gophers had lost two games in overtime, one on a buzzer-beater and four of the seven by less than four points.
• The Gophers had all five starters in double-figure scoring on Wednesday. Jaylen Crocker-Johnson had 22 points, his fifth game this season with 20-plus points. Langston Reynolds scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half, while Cade Tyson added 17. Bobby Durkin had 13 points, three threes, and led the team with eight rebounds. Isaac Asuma rounded out the starting five with 10. The last time Minnesota had all five with double-digit points was the Northwestern game and the last time all five scored against a ranked team was against then-No. 22 Indiana.
• The Gophers connected on 10 three-pointers vs. MSU on Wednesday. It marked the seventh time this season with over 10 threes and the fourth time in conference play. The Gophers also limited their turnovers, committing just six, the second-lowest of the season.

SKI-U-STRONG SET FOR FEB. 8
• The Gophers are launching "Ski U Mah Strong," an initiative honoring designated warriors through M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital. This group will be recognized during the Sunday Feb. 8 game against Maryland.
• The initiative is now in its seventh year under head coach Niko Medved, first beginning at Colorado State. Each player is connected with an individual warrior. Each will receive a full game day experience this week vs. Maryland. Individuals and their families are invited to a pre-game brunch and a special chalk talk with Coach Medved. The warriors will also be invited onto the court for the national anthem as they, the players, and coaches stand in solidarity. The group will also be recognized at halftime.
• The Gophers will wear jerseys with the names of their designated warriors on the back, instead of their standard names, as part of the initiative.

ABOUT THE TERRAPINS
• Coming into the Minnesota game, Maryland is 8-14 overall and 1-10 in Big Ten play. The Terrapins earned a 96-73 win over Penn State. Since then, the Terps faced three-straight ranked teams in Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, and fell to Ohio State Thursday, 82-62. In the Penn State win, David Coit had 43 points.
• Maryland has been without their leading scorer, Pharrel Payne, since Dec. 13. Prior to that, he averaged a team-best 17.5 points. Coit averages 14.5 points and a team-best 102 field goals, 56 of which have been from three. Darius Adams averages 11.8 points, while Solomon Washington averages 10.2 points and a team-best 8.7 rebounds.
