• The Golden Gopher men's basketball team is back at Williams Arena for a Saturday afternoon tilt against the UCLA Bruins. It marks the first time since 1969 that UCLA has visited Williams Arena, when the Gophers lost, 72-71 in overtime. It marks just the third time these two teams have met at Williams Arena and just the eighth all-time, with the 1997 matchup game vacated.
• Minnesota (13-15, 6-11) is coming off a 77-67 loss at No. 3 Michigan Tuesday night. The Golden Gophers trailed by four at the half, but the Wolverines scored nine second-half threes to secure the win. Cade Tyson made 5-of-10 three-pointers and finished with 20 points and six rebounds. Langston Reynolds had 15 points, while Bobby Durkin and Isaac Asuma each had 12 points.
• Cade Tyson scored 20 or more points for the 12th time this season on Tuesday. He made 6-of-13 field goals, including his five three-pointers, and was 3-of-3 at the line. His rebounding total led or tied for the team lead for the fourth-straight game, and he is averaging 20.3 points and 8.3 rebounds during that span. On the season, Tyson averages 19.6 points, which ranks sixth in the league, as does his 528 points this season.

The last time the Bruins came to Williams Arena, they were ranked No. 1 under legendary coach John Wooden and escaped with a 72-71 overtime win over the Gophers.
• Minnesota visited Pauley Pavilion for the second time in school history on Feb. 18, 2025. Dawson Garcia scored 27 points in the second half to finish with a season-high 32 points and eight rebounds as Minnesota rallied from a 17-point first-half deficit to record a 64-61 win over UCLA.
