Cade Tyson made 7-of-9 three-pointers to finish with 27 points and 10 rebounds, Langston Reynolds had 19 points and nine assists, and Minnesota (13-14, 6-10) shot a season-best 60 percent from the field and made 15-of-26 (.577) three-pointers in an 80-61rout of Rutgers (11-16, 4-12) at Williams Arena.

All five starters scored in double-figures for Minnesota, which won its second gamein a row and its third in the past five games. The Gophers made 30-of-50 from the field, and their 15 three-pointers made is the fourth-most in school history. Tyson's seven three-pointers ties for sixth-most in a single game, and his .778 percentage is tied for third-best. Minnesota was 17-of-27 (.630) from the field in the second half, including 9-of-14 (.643) from three-point range.

Tyson's 27-point outing was his 11th game this season with 20 or more points, including two games with 30-plus, and he has scored in double-figures in all 26 games. His 10-rebound game was one shy of his career high 11 that he had versus Texas Southern on Dec. 14. Tyson was 10-of-18 from the field in 39 minutes. Reynolds was 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-4 at the line, and he grabbed five rebounds to go with his game-high nine assists. Bobby Durkin finished with 12 points, making four three-pointers in the second half, and added five assists and three rebounds, Grayson Grove had 11 points, eight rebounds, and two steals, and Isaac Asuma had 11 points and six assists.

Rutgers was led by Lino Mark with 16 points, while Dylan Grant had 15 points, and Tariq Francis added 10 points and five assists. The Scarlet Knights made 24-of-54 (.444) field goals, including 7-of-18 (.389) three-pointers, and 6-of-8 free throws. Minnesota had a 31-22 rebounding advantage .

The teams started out slowly, as Minnesota missed its first five field goal attempts, including four from three-point range, and committed three early turnovers that Rutgers turned into six points for a 6-2 lead at the first media timeout. Minnesota got going with a 9-0 run, as Reynolds scored on a layup with 14:32 left, followed by a Tyson three-pointer, a short hook shot by Grove, and another Reynolds drive to the hoop for a layup to force Rutgers to call timeout with 11:39 remaining. The Scarlet Knights ended a three-minute scoring drought with a three to pull within 11-9, and Reynolds made a pair at the line to put the Gophers up by four.

Once again, a Rutgers three-pointer snapped a three-minute drought, cutting the Gophers' lead to one point, but Asuma and Tyson each knocked down a three-pointer to extend the advantage to 19-12 with 7:31 left. A 4-0 RU run trimmed the margin to three, but Minnesota responded with a 9-2 run that included a dunk by Grove and a three-pointer by Reynolds to put the Gophers up 28-18 and force another RU timeout with 2:42 left. The Scarlet Knights pulled within seven with a 5-2 run, but Tyson made his third three-pointer and Asuma added his second trey for a 36-23 halftime lead.

Reynolds led the Gophers with 13 points and five assists at the half, while Tyson had 11 points and seven rebounds, Asuma had eight points, and Grove added four points and four boards. The Gophers made 13-of-23 (.565) field goal attempts, including 6-of-12 from three-point range, and 4-of-4 free throws, while holding an 18-10 rebounding edge.

Powers had six points to pace the Scarlet Knights, with Francis and Mark each adding five points. Rutgers made 10-of-28 (.357) field goals, including 3-of-11 (.273) from three-point range, and did not attempt a first-half free throw.

The Scarlet Knights opened the second half with a 5-2 run to pull within 10 points, but the Gophers answered with a 12-4 run that included a three-point play by Grove and three consecutive three-pointers by Durkin for a 50-32 lead at the first media timeout with 15:48 left. Three free throws by Grant gave him nine of the first 12 points for the Scarlet Knights and cut the lead to 50-35. Asuma connected on a deep three, his third of the game, and Tyson got free in the paint for a dunk to make it 55-38 with 12:57 left.

Tyson scored in the paint and then made his fourth three-pointer in as many attempts to give Minnesota a 60-43 lead, and Durkin drained his fourth three-pointer of the half to give the Gophers a 20-point lead with 9:11 remaining. Tyson's fifth three-pointer improved Minnesota to 7-of-11 from deep in the second half, and the Gophers led 66-46 with 7:55 left. Tyson added his sixth and seventh three-pointers of the afternoon, and Reynolds added a layup for a 74-52 lead with 4:07 remaining. Grove added a couple layups and Reynolds closed out the scoring with a layup for the final 19-point victory.
