MINNEAPOLIS – University of Minnesota forward Sarah Paul has been named the WCHA Forward of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Paul recorded four points (2g, 2a) in the Gophers' weekend series split with top-ranked Ohio State. The honor marks Paul's first WCHA weekly award as a Gopher.

Paul skated to two multi-point games on the weekend, first recording assists on Minnesota's second and fifth goals in Friday's 6-2 victory over the Buckeyes at Ridder Arena.

She continued her strong play Saturday, scoring twice in a narrow 6-5 loss to Ohio State. She scored back-to-back goals for the Gophers, first tying the game at 4-4 with under 30 seconds remaining in the second period. Just over five minutes into the final frame, Paul scored again to give Minnesota its first lead of the contest at 5-4.

On the weekend, Paul recorded 11 shots on goal and skated to a plus-3 rating on the ice and now holds three multi-point games on the year.
