MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota track and field team had a small group of student-athletes at the Stan Scott Invitational in Lubbock, Texas. Sofia Condon picked up an event win in the women's pole vault with a season-best clearance.
Condon's season-best mark of 4.06m (13-3 3/4) helped her secure her second win in the event this season in four competitions. Condon's lifetime best of 4.15m (13-7 1/4) in the pole vault sits her at fifth all-time indoors at the University of Minnesota.
Minnesota had a few other season-best performances down in Texas, two of them being on the straightaway. Victory Godah's 7.428 was the ninth-best among competitors while Zariah Greaves put down a time of 7.50 in her Gopher debut. Godah also put forth a time of 24.167 in the 200m later in the day, a time that is a season-best for the Nigerian who is the No. 2 all-time 200m runner indoors in program history.
Next weekend Minnesota's team will split up between competing at home at the Jack Johnson Classic on January 30, while another portion of the squad will travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Meyo Invitational from January 30-31.
