Gophers Fall in Overtime at Ohio State

Jaylen Crocker-Johnson scored a career-high 26 points and added eight rebounds, Cade Tyson had 15 points, and Isaac Asuma had 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals, as Minnesota rallied from an 11-point second-half deficit to force overtime, but John Mobley Jr. had 26 points and Bruce Thornton added 23 points and seven rebounds to lead Ohio State (13-5, 5-3) to an 82-74 win over Minnesota (10-9, 3-5 B1G) at the Schottenheim Center.
Crocker-Johnson scored 20 points after halftime, helping Minnesota rally from a 41-30 deficit early in the second half to take a 50-46 lead. The lead changed hands 11 times over the final 4:16 of regulation, and Langston Reynolds had a chance to win it for the Gophers, but his driving layup rolled off the rim. Crocker-Johnson made 11-of-19 field goals, and 3-of-4 free throws to surpass his previous career-high of 23 points versus Stanford on Nov. 27. The 20-point game was his third in a row and his fourth this season.
Tyson reached double-figures for the 19th time this season with his 15-point outing, but he fouled out in overtime. Asuma made three three-pointers, and Reynolds finished with 12 points and five assists. Bobby Durkin added six points and four rebounds, and Grayson Grove had three points and three boards. As a team, Minnesota made 23-of-58 (.397) field goals, including 8-of-28 (.286) three-pointers, and 20-of-25 free throws.
