⢠The Golden Gopher men's basketball team concludes a three-game homestand when it hosts the Wisconsin Badgers Tuesday night at 6 p.m. Minnesota is looking for its first win over the Badgers since Feb. 5, 2020, which was also at Williams Arena. The Badgers hold a 106-98 lead in the all-time series. Wisconsin won both contests against the Gophers last season, including a 74-67 win at the Barn on March 5 to close out the home season. Ā
⢠Minnesota is looking to get back in the win column and earn its sixth win in seven games after a one-point overtime loss to Southern California Friday night. Cade Tyson had team-high totals of 20 points and eight rebounds, and three other Gophers reached double-figures, as Minnesota rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to force overtime, dropping the one-point contest in overtime. The loss for Minnesota was its first at the Barn this season (9-1) and snapped a five-game winning streak. It was also Minnesota's second overtime game of the season and its first in league action.Ā
⢠Cade Tyson has reached double-figures in all 16 games this season and, against USC, added his ninth game with 20-plus points (two with 30-plus). He ranks second in the B1G in scoring with 21.7 points, ninth nationally, while his 325 points rank first in the B1G and 11th nationally.
⢠Minnesota holds the league's third-best scoring defense, allowing 66.1 points. Iowa holds the B1G's top honors at 60.8 points allowed. The Gophers also rank third in steals per game (7.4).Ā
