• The Golden Gopher men's basketball team concludes a three-game homestand when it hosts the Wisconsin Badgers Tuesday night at 6 p.m. Minnesota is looking for its first win over the Badgers since Feb. 5, 2020, which was also at Williams Arena. The Badgers hold a 106-98 lead in the all-time series. Wisconsin won both contests against the Gophers last season, including a 74-67 win at the Barn on March 5 to close out the home season.
• Minnesota is looking to get back in the win column and earn its sixth win in seven games after a one-point overtime loss to Southern California Friday night. Cade Tyson had team-high totals of 20 points and eight rebounds, and three other Gophers reached double-figures, as Minnesota rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to force overtime, dropping the one-point contest in overtime. The loss for Minnesota was its first at the Barn this season (9-1) and snapped a five-game winning streak. It was also Minnesota's second overtime game of the season and its first in league action.
• Cade Tyson has reached double-figures in all 16 games this season and, against USC, added his ninth game with 20-plus points (two with 30-plus). He ranks second in the B1G in scoring with 21.7 points, ninth nationally, while his 325 points rank first in the B1G and 11th nationally.
• Minnesota holds the league's third-best scoring defense, allowing 66.1 points. Iowa holds the B1G's top honors at 60.8 points allowed. The Gophers also rank third in steals per game (7.4).
• Minnesota continues to share the love as it ranks first nationally in assist rate at 75.6. The Gophers had 19 assists in 24 field goals vs. USC. Over the past five games, Minnesota has had all five starters average double-digit points and has recorded 105 assists on 126 makes.
ABOUT THE BADGERS
• The Wisconsin Badgers are coming off their biggest win of the season when they upset the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines, 91-88 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Overall on the season, Wisconsin is 11-5 and 3-2 in Big Ten action. Along with the Michigan win, UW also had conference wins against Northwestern and UCLA.
• The Badgers are led in scoring by Nick Boyd, who transferred to Wisconsin from San Diego State and FAU. He averages 19.7 points and 54 assists as well as shooting 48.4 from the field. John Blackwell follows with 18 points, while Nolan Winter averages 14.3 points and a team-best 8.8 rebounds. Austin Rapp is narrowly averaging double digits at 9.4 in 14 games played this year.
