Minnesota Falls 6-1 to USC

MINNEAPOLIS-The Minnesota Golden Gophers fell to the USC Trojans 6-1 despite the efforts of junior Weber Neels, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and an RBI.
Sophomore Kyle Remington (1-6) got the ball to start for Minnesota (20-20, ) and took the loss. Senior Seth Clausen was a bright spot for the Golden Gophers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing one scoreless inning, allowing one hit, with no walks and two strikeouts.
In the batter's box, the Golden Gophers were paced by Neels, who went 1-for-4 on the day with a home run and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Gophers were trailing 6-0 in the ninth inning when they first put runs on the board. Neels put Minnesota on the board with a two-out solo home run off senior Caden Aoki. The Golden Gophers were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
