Streit, Nabwe Finish Indoor Season as All-Americans

Streit finished ninth while Nabwe was 11th in Virginia Beach.
MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota women's track team had a pair of Second Team All-America finishers on Friday at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, Va., at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Redshirt sophomore Hadley Streit reached the NCAA final and was ninth while Anthonett Nabwe was 11th overall.
Streit reached the NCAA final (top 9) after a third round toss of 22.03m (72-3 1/2) which would go down as her best throw of the day. Streit was as high as eighth before she finished ninth in her NCAA Indoor Championships debut. The Mounds View High School graduate finishes her indoor campaign as a scorer in the Big Ten (sixth), No. 5 all-time at Minnesota and as a Second Team All-American.
Nabwe's best throw of 21.59m (70-10) on Friday came on her first attempt of the competition. She then fouled her second attempt and had a mark of 20.73m (68-0 1/4) on her third attempt. The Liberian national, and two-time Big Ten champion, ended her 2025 indoor season No. 2 all-time at Minnesota in the weight throw and No. 8 all-time (24.22m | 79-5 1/2) among collegiates.
On Friday Streit became just the fourth Gopher to ever reach the NCAA women's weight throw final (Alabi, Frank, Long). She also extended Minnesota's NCAA weight throw finalist streak to three years. Nabwe's second career All-America finish in the weight throw makes her just one of four Gophers to earn the distinction twice in a career (Clunis, Frank, Howard and Schmitt).
