The Gophers have a chance to share a Big Ten Regular Season title

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- No. 13 Minnesota gymnastics team scored a 196.625 to take first place at the Big 4 meet on Saturday evening.

The Gophers finished the 2025 Big Ten conference slate with an 8-1 league record, their best B1G record since the 2020 season (9-1).

No. 15 Michigan (196.300) placed second, Maryland third (196.125) and No. 24 Illinois (195.275) got fourth.

UCLA competes in their Big 4 meet tomorrow, so Minnesota will have to wait to see if it earns at least a share of the 2025 Big Ten Regular Season Championship.

"This really was a team effort," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "The upperclassmen are really showing the rest of the team the way. We have a lot of people who are really important to this team."

The Gophers (10-1, 8-1 B1G) earned 49.275 on vault, 49.150 on bars, 48.850 on beam and 49.350 on floor. Michigan went 49.199 on vault, 49.150 on bars, 48.775 on beam and 49.275 on floor. Maryland, the meet host, totaled 49.250 on vault, 49.275 on bars, 48.400 on beam and 49.200 on floor. Illinois went 49.100 on vault, 49.125 on bars, 48.225 on beam and 48.825 on the floor.

Sarah Moraw tied for the title on vault (9.900), her second of the season on the event. Mya Hooten tied for the floor event title with a 9.925, her eighth of the year.

Jordyn Lyden won the uneven bars title outright with a season-best 9.950. Her career-best of 9.975 last season still stands as the school record on the event.

"We hope to use every meet to get better. We still have two meets before Big Ten's and there are adjustments we need to make. I'm always taking notes and our hope is to be even better in these next few weeks," Hansen said.
