MINNEAPOLIS – While the No. 2-ranked University of Minnesota women's hockey team enjoys its first bye week of the 2025-26 season, four current Gophers will be competing around the globe with their respective national teams. Captain Abbey Murphy and sophomore defender Chloe Primerano will represent their countries in the 2025 Rivalry Series, while senior forward Josefin Bouveng and freshman forward Tereza Plosová will compete in the Women's Euro Hockey Tour in Europe.

Rivalry Series Set to Begin
The 2025 Rivalry Series between the United States and Canada kicks off this week, with the first matchup scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. CT. Abbey Murphy will skate for Team USA, while Chloe Primerano will represent Hockey Canada in her first Rivalry Series appearance. Both teams will play again at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 8, in Buffalo, N.Y., before the series shifts north to Edmonton, Alberta for games on Dec. 10 and 13. The Rivalry Series is one of the sport's premier international events, showcasing many of the top players from the PWHL and NCAA ranks. All U.S.-based games will air on NHL Network.

Bouveng and Plosová Compete in Euro Hockey Tour
Across the Atlantic, the Women's Euro Hockey Tour continues this week with the Lidl Hockey Games hosted in Ängelholm, Sweden, from Nov. 5–8. Josefin Bouveng will represent her home country of Sweden, while Tereza Plosová suits up for Czechia. The tournament features top European national teams, including Sweden, Finland, Czechia, and Switzerland, in a round-robin format. This event marks the second leg of the Euro Hockey Tour, which began with the Four Nations Tournament in August in Kloten, Switzerland, and will continue with the Six Nations Tournament in December when Team USA and Team Canada join the field.
