Postgame Quotes
Minnesota 3, Minnesota Duluth 2
December 10, 2010
Minneapolis, Minn.
Minnesota Head Coach Don Lucia
On Kent Patterson’s acrobatic save at the end of the game:
“Yeah, that was pretty big. I’m a lot smarter when he makes a save like that. I thought we had done a pretty good job most of the game five-on-five. We scored a couple power play goals tonight. That was a huge save there at the end…He didn’t even worry about the stick. He just dove across and made the save. You have to have those kinds of saves against a good team.”
On coming out strong in the second period after the Bulldogs tied it up at the end of the first:
“I think you have time to kind of recover. The guys battled pretty hard in that penalty kill right to the end. Kent probably would like to have that one back…We were able to score the next goal to get the 2-1 lead. I thought that was important.”
Minnesota Duluth Head Coach Scott Sandelin
On his team’s third period play:
“We asked our guys to go out and work harder and give ourselves a chance, and we did. Patterson was great for them in the third period, made some good saves. Give him credit. You can’t control that. You can control effort, and I thought our guys went out and played a harder [in the third period than they did earlier] and gave ourselves a chance.”
