Alternate Hockey Games to Air on KNOF 95.3 FM

12/29/2009 12:00:00 AM | Men's Hockey

The University of Minnesota's radio partner, Learfield Sports, has announced that Gopher hockey games with conflicts on WCCO radio will be broadcast on KNOF 95.3 FM for the remainder of the 2009-10 season.

KNOF, also known as Praise FM, is a 6,000-watt station owned by Selby Gospel Broadcasting Corporation. WCCO remains the primary outlet for Gopher hockey games, but KNOF will carry a minimum of seven games that have conflicts with other WCCO programming. KYCR 1570 AM, with a 230-watt signal, has been the Gophers' alternate station this season and will continue to carry the games with WCCO conflicts.

The first broadcast on KNOF will be Saturday's game in the Dodge Holiday Classic when the Gophers face Bowling Green at 7 p.m. WCCO will air the Minnesota Wild game, which also starts at 7 p.m.

"95.3 Praise FM is new to the Twin Cities and while our focus is on spiritual values and foundations, we also love to be a part of our local communities," said KNOF Executive Director David McIver. "We are honored to partner with Learfield Sports in broadcasting Golden Gopher sports in the metro area."

A complete schedule of Gopher hockey radio broadcasts can be found on the hockey schedule page at gophersports.com. For more information on Praise FM, go to www.praisefm.org.
