Minnesota freshman forward Michael Dorr has decided to leave the university’s men’s hockey team and plans to transfer.

Dorr, a Roseville native who played last season with Des Moines of the United States Hockey League, played two games for the Gophers this season. He appeared in home games against Minnesota State and Michigan State. Dorr attempted two shots and did not score a point in his two appearances.

Dorr was one of 12 freshmen and 16 forwards on Minnesota’s 2008-09 roster. The Gophers are currently 8-3-5 overall through their first 16 games.
