Mike Scott joined the University of Minnesota football staff in February 2026 as a Defensive Analyst.Â
Scott came to Minnesota from Eastern Michigan where he was a Defensive Assistant in 2025.
He worked in sales prior to joining the coaching ranks in 2025, most recently with Oracle.Â
Scott was a three-star recruit out of North Florida Christian High School in Tallahassee, Fla., where he earned four varsity letters and was ranked among the top 100 outside linebackers nationally by ESPN and 247Sports.Â
He began his college career at the University of Akron, where he was a three-year letterwinner and served as team captain in 2021. He transferred to the University of South Dakota for his final season, earning Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) All-Newcomer Team honors in 2022 and finishing among the league’s top 10 in tackles for loss.
Scott graduated from Akron in 2021 with a degree in marketing management.Â
