Acacia Holmes joined the Health & Performance Staff at the University of Minnesota in September 2020 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and works with the Rowing team. Â

Originally from Milwaukee, Wis., Holmes attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2015. She continued her education at Indiana University, where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Bloomington High School North. She graduated in 2018 with a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology-Athletic Training. Holmes joined the staff at Indiana University following graduation as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Site Project Coordinator & Research Assistant for the Concussion Assessment Research and Education (CARE) Consortium, where she administered baseline and post-injury concussion assessments for 24 teams. She also assisted with sport coverage for Softball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, and Football.

Holmes is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Minnesota State Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT). She holds Graston Technique M1 certification. She published her graduate school research “Return to Learn: Academic Effects of Concussion in High School and College Student-Athletes” in Frontiers in Pediatrics.
