- Wrestled for St. Cloud Crush, a co-op team comprised of St. Cloud Tech and St. Cloud Apollo students
- Class AAA state champion at 215 pounds, finishing with a 41-1 record in his senior season
- Competed at the state tournament four times total and placed in each of his final three seasons
- Was a finalist at 189 pounds as a junior after finishing fifth at the weight in his sophomore campaign; he also made it to state as an eighth grader at 195 pounds
- Went 117-8 over his last three seasons
- On the national scene, Kenning was an All-American in 2025, placing eighth at the USA Nationals in Fargo at 190 pounds
- Prior to his freshman year of high school, he finished fourth at the 16U Nationals at 195
- Father, Anthony, won four national championships in college, two at Ridgewater Community College and two at Minnesota State
- Brother, Jaxon, was a finalist in 2025 at the state tournament at 172 pounds, and his sister, Camryn, has won a pair of state titles.
