PRIOR TO MINNESOTA (KANSAS UNIVERSITY):
McGhie played two seasons at Kansas, appearing in 46 matches and playing in 164 sets • as a freshman in 2020-21, she averaged just over 8.0 assists per set and finished the year with 51 kills and eight service aces • she recorded 40-or-more assists five times, including back-to-back matches with 47 and 48 assists, respectively this past fall, she appeared in 24 matches, tallying 6.0 assists (second on the team) and 0.17 aces per set • the best game of her career came against Wake Forest on Sept. 3, 2019, when she tallied 50 assists, seven digs and three kills in a five set win • three times she posted 40+ assist efforts as she helped the Jayhawks reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in school history.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB:
A 2019 AVCA Under Armour All-America Honorable Mention in 2019, McGhie was also named to the MO-KAN All-Star team • as a junior in 2018, McGhie was an Academic All-State honoree and all-district selection • she also made Prepvolleyball.com's All-America Honorable Mention in 2018 • McGhie totaled 1,816 career assists (third most in school history) and is St. Teresa's school record holder in assists in a single season (933) • she averaged 10.5 assists per set as a prep.

PERSONAL:
The daughter of Andrew and Patricia McGhie, Elise also has a younger sister, Brynne • her mom played volleyball and basketball in college at Rockhurst University (Kan.) while her dad played rugby for the University of Technology and the University of South Wales in Australia • her sister, Brynne, is set to play collegeiate volleyball at Pepperdine • Elise plans on majoring in biochemistry at Minnesota.
