A graduate of IES La Vega de San Jose in Grand Canary Island, Spain - spent one year at Sunrise Basketball Academy but did not compete in any games - was a four-year high school starter, averaging nine rebounds, 7.5 points and one block per game - played in the Adidas Nations Basketball Tournament in Chicago as part of Team Mali - competed internationally at 15 years old for Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria in Spain - named MVP of the U-16 Spanish Clubs Championships at the 2009 Nike International Junior Tournament in Berlin.

Son of Seydou and Oumou KonateÂ - born Dec. 15, 1993 - is one of 14 siblings - has three brothers who played college basketball in the United States: Ibrahim (Boston University), Lassana (LeMoyne-Owen) and Fousseini(LeMoyne-Owen) - hobbies include watching movies and dancing - majoring in business and marketing education.
