2024 Cross Country • Redshirt Sophomore Season: Named to the Academic All-Big Ten team... Ran in three cross country races during the Fall.. Ran an 8K lifetime best time of 25:44.4 at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational.
2024 Outdoor Track & Field • Redshirt Freshman Season: Named to the Academic All-Big Ten team... Competed in five meets in his first official season in the Maroon and Gold... Opened the season with a 1500m time of 3:53.91 at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla.... Ran the 3000m steeplechase four times during the season, starting at the Hamline Invitational in a time of 9:31.23... Was seventh at the Gary Wilson Invitational in the 3000m steeplechase in a season best time of 9:10.88... Was 20th at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the 3000m steeplechase, clocking a time of 9:26.82.
2023 Cross Country • Redshirt Freshman Season: Named to the Academic All-Big Ten team... Represented the Maroon and Gold in five meets during the cross country season... Was fourth among Gopher finishers at the Oz Memorial in his official debut... Was sixth among the Gophers at the Badger Classic, putting down an 8K season best 25:13.4 to finish 22nd overall... Was sixth in the Gopher lineup at the Griak Invitational with a time of 26:28.5... Finished the NCAA Pre-Nationals race in a time of 25:51.5... Clocked a 26:51.5 at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships.
2023 Outdoor Track & Field • Freshman Season: Ran in four meets as a member of the Gophers during his freshman season... Made his debut in the Maroon and Gold uniform at the St. Thomas Tomcat Invitational where he finished 12th in both the 800m and the 1500m... Ran the 3000m steeplechase for the first time at the Bethel Invitational where he finished third overall with a time of 9:31.46... Was fourth at the 1500m at the Running on Hope Invitational, clocking a time of 3:57.19... Finished eighth at the Janis Rider/Doug Bolsorff Invitational 3000m steeplechase.
2022 Cross Country • Freshman Season: Redshirtted the cross country season in his initial season in the Twin Cities.
HIGH SCHOOL: Staying right at home is Minneapolis Southwest's Owen Lindseth... Primarily a 1600m runner, Lindseth brings in a personal best of 4:17.12 in that event... Qualified for the 800m Class AAA state meet and finished 12th overall with a personal best time of 1:58.93... Coached by Jaime Yaeck and Aaron Gerhardt... Earned 11 total letters in high school, four with cross country, four with Nordic skiing and three with track... Graduated with academic honors... Was a three-time All-Conference cross country performer and Nordic skiing and was a one-time All-Conference track and field athlete... Earned three All-State distinctions, once in cross country and two in Nordic skiing... Finished first at the state Nordic meet both his junior and senior year... Won a team conference championship in cross country during senior year and was second at the state cross country meet.
PERSONAL: Plans on majoring in Kinesiology... Son of Kristin Benson and Erik Lindseth... Has one sibling, Ava... Lists cooking as an interest outside of running.
