University of Minnesota Athletics
1964 NCAA Champions
Minnesota made its third trip to the College World Series in 1964 and won for the third time in as many trips. Joe Pollack had three complete game victories in that College World Series, including the clincher, a 5-1 victory over Missouri, in which he gave up just four hits and one run. Pollack is still one of only eight pitchers in the history of the College World Series to win three games. Dick Siebert also became just the second coach in the history of the College World Series to win three championships at the time.
