College Sports Communicators announced today
MINNEAPOLIS - Senior guard Amaya Battle has been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Team, it was announced by the publication on Wednesday.
The 2025-26 Academic All-America® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The award marks the second consecutive season that Battle has earned the honor, she's the third Gopher in program history to be named a CSC Academic All-American two years in-a-row. Battle finished her career with 1,533 points, 599 assists and 776 rebounds. She is one of only two players to reach those marks and the only active NCAA player to do so at one school. This season, she earned a spot on the All-Big Ten third team (by both coaches and media) and the All-Defensive Team. She hit a game-winning buzzer-beater against Ole Miss to send the Gophers to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2005. She led Minnesota with five double-doubles this past season.
