Mantzouranis, Dundon Named to Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Athletes to Watch List

The Big Ten Conference announced its 2026 Women's and Men's Outdoor Track and Field Watch List today. Minnesota had two student-athletes recognized in Zoie Dundon and Angelos Mantzouranis.
Dundon stepped onto the track in five different outdoor meets last year. She improved to No. 3 all-time in the 3000m steeplechase at the Univeristy of Minnesota with a time of 9:52.46 at the Bryan Clay Invitational to finish ninth overall. Dundon opened the outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays, running to a lifetime best 800m time of 2:06.62, which sits at No. 10 all-time at Minnesota. She scored at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 9:58.45.
In 2025, Mantzouranis finished his second collegiate season as one of the best hammer throwers in NCAA history. He posted the No. 3 all-time collegiate hammer throw mark in NCAA history (according to USTFCCCA) at the Hamline Meet of the UnSaintly with a toss of 78.61m (257-11). The school-record mark of 78.61m (257-11) was the longest toss in the NCAA since 2002 (Andras Haklits | 78.63m). He finished second at the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw with a toss of 76.96m (252-6), behind teammate and NCAA Champion Kostas Zaltos. Mantzouranis won the NCAA West Regional hammer throw competition with a mark of 76.10m (249-8) and he claimed the silver medal in the hammer throw at the Big Ten Championships with a mark of 75.11m (246-5).
Preseason honors were bestowed upon 18 women and 17 men.
The 2026 Outdoor Track and Field season began March 6.
