MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The No. 3-ranked University of Minnesota women's hockey team earned a 4-0 victory over Maine on Friday night at Ridder Arena. Hannah Clark recorded her sixth career shutout, making 23 saves, while four different Gophers found the back of the net to secure the win.

After a scoreless opening period, Minnesota broke through on the power play at 7:45 of the second. Sarah Paul deked toward the net and fired a low shot off the pads of the Maine goaltender. The rebound found Molly Jordan in the slot, where she buried the puck to give the Gophers a 1-0 lead.

Less than three minutes later, Madison Kaiser doubled Minnesota's advantage. After forcing a turnover in the neutral zone, Kaiser drove hard to the net and jammed home the puck to make it 2-0.

The Gophers added two more goals in the third period to seal the victory. At 6:35, Emma Kreisz fed Julia Schalin from below the goal line, and Schalin lifted the puck high to the blocker side to extend the lead to 3-0. With just 49 seconds remaining, Tereza Plosova scored her first goal of the season in her season debut. Plosova weaved through the neutral zone and past three Maine skaters before firing a powerful wrist shot off the rush to cap the scoring.

With the win, Minnesota improves to 3-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in WCHA play, while Maine falls to 1-4-0 overall.

Quotable
"It was a great game from us, start to finish," said head coach Greg "Boom" May. "Our compete level was high the entire game. A lot of credit to Maine, they played incredibly hard. It felt like we were battling from the puck drop all the way to the buzzer."

- Schalin scored her first goal in the Maroon and Gold.
- Kaiser and Plosova each tallied her first goal of the season.
- Carly Humphrey and Sydney Bailey were both a +3 rating on the night.
