Why Minnesota?Â
Living in Minnesota and being from here was a big factor. I also know there's such a good group of guys on this team and I was really excited to be able to have a chance here. There was no hesitation in my decision.Â
When did you start playing basketball and did you play other sports?Â
I think I started playing basketball when I was about six years old. I also was in track and played baseball and football.Â
Tell us about your experience playing at Eden Prairie and playing basketball in Minnesota.
I grew up there and played in their travel program all the way through varsity and it was really special for me to be there all four years. I've gotten to know a lot of people there and it felt good to represent my community and where I grew up. In terms of playing basketball in Minnesota, I think it's super underrated. There's a lot of great talent here and I think that gets overlooked. It's very competitive.Â
You joined the basketball program when camp had already started. How were you able to connect with the team when you arrived?Â
They were really welcoming when I got here. The second I got to campus, they were introducing themselves to me and making me feel really welcomed. The coaching staff was great too. They just wanted to help me feel comfortable right away as well.Â
You're a true freshman, any idea of what you want to major in yet or what your interests are?Â
I think I'm going to get into business management and eventually I want to work in sales. My dad works in sales and think that's the path I'd like to get into.Â
What's the best piece of advice the coaching staff or players has given you so far?Â
Never do second things first. It's just a helpful reminder to slow down, go through my progressions and think about getting my reads right.Â
What are you most looking forward to this year?
I'm definitely looking forward to spending more time with the guys and getting to know everyone better. Looking forward to road trips and tournament coming up this year.Â
Favorite Food: ChickenÂ
Best place you've ever visited: New York or CaliforniaÂ
Three apps on your phone you can't live without: Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube
If I wasn't playing basketball I'd be: I'd be a football player
