Riddle Set to Compete at Senior World Team Trials Challenge

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota wrestler Ethan Riddle is set to compete this weekend at the 2025 Senior World Team Trials Challenge in Louisville, Ky.
Action starts Friday at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center with prelims and quarterfinals starting at 9 a.m. CT. Semifinals and consolation matches are scheduled to start at 3 p.m. Saturday features consolations and the third-place match beginning at 9 a.m., while the finals are slated to begin at 1 p.m. FloWrestling will have streaming coverage.
The winner of each bracket at the World Team Trials advances to Final X on June 14 to compete against the U.S. Open winners in a best-of-three competition for a spot on the 2025 World Team.
After finishing seventh at last month's U.S. Open, Riddle has earned the No. 7 pre-seed at 79 kg this weekend.
Competing as a redshirt freshman this past season, Riddle went 16-6 at 174 pounds with one win by pin, seven by tech fall and three via major decision. He went undefeated at the Daktronics Open with a 3-0 record and finished second at both the Cougar Clash and Patriots Last Chance Open. He also logged third-place finishes at the Mountaineer Invite and Cyclone Open. A native of Germantown, Wis., Riddle ranked fourth on the roster in wins by tech fall and tied for fifth in bonus point rate (.500).
