MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota senior gymnast Lauren Pearl (Milford, Mass.) has announced that she will return for her fifth and final year in 2025-26.

Her freshman season in 2022 early due to injury, leading to a medical redshirt. She has competed fully for the team the past three seasons.

"Over these past four years I have met some of the most incredible people and experienced opportunities I'll cherish forever," said Pearl. "This journey has taught me resilience, strength and that everything truly does happen for a reason. The love and gratitude I feel for Gopher Nation is beyond words and I am not finished here yet. I am so excited to be back for one more year and can't wait to see you all next season! Go Gophers!"

A vault, beam and floor specialist, Pearl has competed in every meet the last two seasons. Pearl had a breakout year as a junior in 2024, earning All-Big Ten Second Team honors and making the Big Ten All-Championships Team. In 2025, Pearl competed in all 14 meets, averaging 9.850 on floor, 9.756 on beam and 9.737 on vault. She hit season-bests of 9.900 on beam and floor while posting a yearly-best of 9.825 on vault. She holds career-highs of 9.875 on vault and 9.950 on beam and floor.

The Gophers finished the 2025 season with a 17-7 (8-1 B1G) record and a second place finish in the Big Ten standings. The team finished third at the Big Ten Championships and was one of just three Big Ten teams to make the NCAA Regional Finals. Minnesota was ranked No. 15 in the WCGA final standings, the program's seventh-consecutive top-20 finish.
