Spent final college season in Maroon and Gold

MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota goaltender Liam Souliere landed his first professional deal Tuesday, agreeing to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO) with the ECHL's Orlando Solar Bears.

Playing one memorable season with the Golden Gophers, Souliere put up the best numbers of his five-year collegiate career and guided the team to a Big Ten Conference regular season championship. He closed the campaign with a 13-8-2 record across 23 starts and 25 appearances in 2024-25 to earn a spot on the All-Big Ten Honorable Mention Team. The graduate student posted a 2.35 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage, both of which were the best of his NCAA tenure, and was named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List.

He backstopped the Maroon and Gold to a pair of shutouts, coming in his first outing versus Penn State, his former team, behind 28 saves in November and added a perfect, 22-save effort against Michigan to complete a series shutout of the Wolverines in December. During a January trip to Ohio State, Souliere turned away 38-of-39 total shots faced in nearly four periods of work to earn Big Ten Conference Third Star of the Week honors. Those performances in league play helped the Montreal, Quebec, native to a 2.30 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in conference outings to rank second among all B1G goaltenders in 2024-25.
