Three Gophers made the CSC Academic All-District Team

MINNEAPOLIS - Amaya Battle, Grace Grocholski, and Annika Stewart of the University of Minnesota women's basketball team have earned a spot on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, it was announced Tuesday.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

For the second consecutive year, Amaya Battle has earned a spot on the CSC All-District Team. The Hopkins, Minn., native was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by both the coaches and the media. Battle also earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades. This season, Battle is averaging 12.1 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists.

In addition to her Academic All-Big Ten honor, the CSC Academic All-District recognition is the first for Grace Grocholski. This season, Grocholski was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by both the coaches and the media. As a sophomore, the guard/forward set a team, career, and season high 27 points twice (Northwestern, Purdue). The North Prairie, Wis., native leads Minnesota in scoring, averaging 12.9 points per game with 427 total points this year.

Proving to be a tactful transfer this season, graduate Annika Stewart was also recognized for her hard work in the classroom and on the court this season. Stewart has come off the bench in every game this season, averaging 9.2 points per game, 2.2 boards on a 52.3% shooting clip.

The 'U' is back in action on Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the WBIT when the Gophers host the Gonzaga Bulldogs (24-10, 17-3 WCC). The game is set for a 7 p.m. CT tip and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
