Minnesota Adds Transfer Tatiana Cunningham

She will have one season to play in the Maroon and Gold
MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota head coach Erin Chastain has announced the addition of Tatiana Cunningham for the 2025 season. Cunningham will join the Golden Gophers after a successful three seasons at San Jose State University.
"I chose the University of Minnesota because I feel that it will be the perfect fit for me to grow as a player," said Cunningham. "The team is very talented and competitive which is a great environment for me to be in. I loved all of the staff and the school as a whole so I cannot wait to be a part of this team."
As a freshman, Cunningham made 21 starts with 22 appearances for the Spartans. She finished one goal, tallied two assists and logged 1,841 minutes of action. Notably, she started all three matches in the Mountain West Tournament, helping the Spartans to the 2022 title. For her efforts, she received Mountain West All-Newcomer honors.
During her sophomore campaign, Cunningham played a key role in the midfield for San Jose State. She started all 19 matches, competing for 1,559 minutes. Cunningham missed only 151 minutes of action the entire season. Off the field, the San Jose, Calif., native excelled in the classroom. She was a Mountain West Scholar Athlete and earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team.
This past season, Cunningham saw 18 starts with 19 appearances for the Spartans totaling 1,549 minutes on the field. Ahead of the 2024 season, she was selected to the 2024 Mountain West Preseason Watch List.
Tatiana is the daughter of Olga Duarte and Antonio Cuevas, she has one sibling, Odalys. She will be majoring in psychology.
